Not a race, but a challenging ride at your own pace. This year the event comes of age 21 years! This event will be 65 miles, a shortie, with around 5238 feet of climbing. By our standard, this is a day off! This is not a “Pretend” road race, how you ride is up to you. It is a great but tough day, on road, among Shropshire’s 'Blue remembered Hills' and quiet leafy lanes, "The quietest places under the Sun" Early entry is a must. Last year was again a full field of 550 and many keen people were disappointed. Do it now !!

Make it a weekend if you wish in Ludlow town. Excellent secluded camping and caravan facilities at event H.Q. below the castle.

Online Entry

Entry to our event can now be made online as well as by post. Just follow the 2012 entry links where you can enter online through EntryCentral.com. The entry fee is £10.50 for online entry and £9.50 for postal entry.

Catering

Our regular and more experienced caterers taking charge of the “Breakfast Bargain” has been a great success. Service is rapid and queues almost none existent! This service will be available again with sausage or bacon baps with tea or coffee at a set price. Ideal for camping without chores or people travelling long distances. The caterers need to make it worthwhile so it is a case of use it or loose it. The same applies to the lunchtime catering.

You never know who you may be riding alongside. In past events riders have rubbed shoulders with a four times professional Word Champion and television presenter, an eight stage winner of the Tour de France, another stage winner plus five other professional riders of the forenamed event, National Road male and female champions and Ladies B.A.R. winner. Ride with the greats! 2010 saw Tony Hewson, cycling author, Tour de France man and winner of the Tour of Britain, made a welcome comeback to cycling inspired by this event at the age of 76, loved it and is already looking forward to 2012.
